The Regional Leasing Specialist is primarily responsible for taking special roles in the leasing function of an assigned region or regions. The Regional Leasing Specialist will perform traditional leasing duties including but not limited to, conducting prospect tours, using sales closing methods to sell the prospective resident on the MAA property, completing application and lease file paperwork, securing renewals and responding to resident needs. This position is based on-site and may rotate among one or more properties at the direction of the Senior Vice President. The Regional Leasing Specialist trains and mentors new Leasing Consultants and other property personnel, conducts periodic training and discussion with Leasing Consultants regarding pertinent issues. The Regional Leasing Specialist must be willing to work weekends and rotate between multiple properties for varying lengths of time.
Reporting Relationships: The Regional Leasing Specialist will report to an SVP. May also receive guidance for specific support from the Training Manager for Leasing Programs and the Divisional Sales and Marketing Director. Leasing Support

Special Requirement: Regional Leasing Specialists may be required to attend classroom training at a regional office or the Corporate Office at the first opportunity to schedule after employment and when in person training is needed. MAA will provide transportation in the most cost and time efficient way. This may require air travel. Required Skills
Physical Demands Ability to sit, reach, twist, and lean during routine paperwork tasks. Ability to walk property and go up and down flights of stairs daily. The ability to operate a computer keyboard and lift files. Exposure to vibration, pitch and glare from a computer.
Driving Requirements Must have a valid driver’s license or means of immediate transportation and ability to get to meetings, events, and daily activities.
Working Environment Mostly indoor, office work but often taking prospective residents outside to show units in all types of weather conditions.
Reasoning Development Advanced. Must comply and follow all company policies and procedures, including Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. Must be able to think rationally beyond a specific set of instructions. Must be able to work at a fast pace, multi-task, perform duties while under pressure and meet deadlines in a timely manner. Must be able to interact and communicate with senior management, on-site employees, and the public in professional and pleasant manner. Required Experience
High School diploma or equivalent and four years of full-time, successful apartment leasing or sales experience. Equivalent experience may be considered. Basic personal computer skills. Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Marketing, Communications, or related. Experience in training delivery methods.
