Seeking an experienced Regulatory and Risk Manager.
Blue Ridge Companies is searching for an experienced Regulatory and Risk Manager to enhance its Home Office support team. The Regulatory and Risk Manager’s primary duties fall into 4 categories: 1.) Coordinate Annual Risk Assessments for each property and maintain appropriate risk management programs and policies and oversee accountability of same; 2.) Maintain company level and property level liability and casualty insurance coverage; 3.) Manage property level mandatory renters insurance program and provide ongoing support of program to on-site personnel and; 4.) Oversee compliance with local, state, and national regulations impacting our businesses.
A valid driver’s license is required.
Salary is dependent upon the following verifiable experience and skills:
Oversee an Annual Risk Assessment (ARA) process and related tools (standards, checklist).
Analyze ARA results and make recommendations accordingly. Ensure that each property addresses deficiencies.
Develop and oversee various other risk management programs and policies, making recommendations for change when needed, implementing same and ensuring accountability. (Examples-document destruction, identity protection, cybersecurity).
Ensure company and property insurance policies contain appropriate coverage.
Develop and maintain a process for managing expirations of company/property insurance policies and oversee premium negotiations.
Monitor, audit and analyze all company and property loss incidents (liability, casualty, resident caused, insured and uninsured); recommend solutions according to analysis and trends.
Develop and implement a renter’s insurance program.
Ensure program integrity; audit monthly renter’s insurance reports for anomalies and required actions; consult with Regional Property Managers as needed.
Assist with property transitions as needed as it relates to property insurance and renters insurance programs.
Oversee the acquisition and renewal of any required governmental or regulatory permitting and licensing.
Strong focus on Collecting and researching data; Uses intuition and experience to complement data.
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
Must possess the knowledge and skills to organize, prioritize, and meet a deadline.
Customer service and problem-solving skills are a must.
Must possess the ability to pay attention to detail.
Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; Applies feedback to improve performance; Monitors own work to ensure quality.
