A Day in the Life:
The Benefits Specialist is responsible for administering the day to day activities of the group benefits programs (medical, dental, vision, short-term disability, long-term disability, life insurance, flexible spending plans, health savings plans and 401k). Under the guidance of the Benefits Manager. This role will administer plans and serve as liaison with our associates, benefit providers, and other third-party vendors as necessary, ensuring compliance with all federal, state and local laws. In addition, the Benefits Specialist will be responsible for management and administration of the company s Associate Lease program.
What You ll Do:
Monitor and oversee new hire eligibility, status change eligibility, and benefits training notification processes.
Administer, under guidance of Benefits Manager, company benefits programs such as medical, dental, vision, COBRA, short-term disability, long-term disability, life/accidental death & dismemberment, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, wellness program and 401(k), etc.
Work with internal partners to effectively deliver changes, updates and communications.
Maintain updated materials and communications regarding plan options/processes on internal communication outlets, such as benefits home page, and source material as needed.
Assist with Open Enrollment process annually by completing required processes, providing information, answering questions, and providing customer service to all associates.
Responsible for leading implementation(s) for programs under the direction of Benefit Manager.
Manage and respond to benefit inquiries to ensure quick, equitable, and courteous resolution.
Administer life events, National Support Orders, and other tasks dealing with plan administration.
Update, compile, audit, and process reports as needed or deemed necessary by Benefits Manager.
Perform necessary transactions to ensure accuracy of changes, additions and deletions of benefits in multiple systems.
Perform billing reconciliations and payment of vendor invoicing and communicate when issues or discrepancies arise.
Upload eligibility and remittance files while ensuring accuracy of all data uploads.
Responsible for complying with the rules and regulations set forth by Federal, Local, and State government, Alliance policies and procedures.
Provide leave of absence administration, including disseminating information to associates, and their leadership.
Administering FMLA, CFRA and PDL notifications, tracking and status changes needed to fully manage leave of absences full cycle.
What You ll Need to Succeed:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Bachelor or Associates degree in a related field.
Previous experience working with employee benefits, including, but not limited to, (medical, dental, vision, short-term disability, long-term disability, life insurance, flexible spending plans, health savings plans and 401k).
Prior experience in Human Resources with exposure to multi-state leave administration experience.
