ResponsibilitiesA Day in the Life of an National Accounting Specialist : As a Lincoln Military Housing National Accounting Specialist , you will be responsible for managing vendor records, state reporting, assisting with the development of Accounting procedures, as well as tracking insurance claims for LMH. This role requires attention to detail and working effectively with interrelated groups, including Accounting, Construction, Asset Management, and Property Management. Your Responsibilities include, but not limited to: - Assist in preparation of process documentation for a variety of Accounting procedures
- Prepares/assists with annual 1099 and small business reporting per required standards
- Vendor Invoicing Portal Administrator (Vendor Cafe)
- Maintain vendor records to include new vendor set-up, existing vendor updates/changes, and RMIS coordinator
- Gather data and provide as-needed analysis on a variety of items including but not limited to payables, receivables, insurance claims, and other ad hoc assignments
- Compile documentation for property damage insurance claims
- Other assigned duties as needed
QualificationsWhat You Need for Success: - Exceptional organizational and follow-through skills are required
- Ability to adapt to an ever-changing environment. Flexibility is important
- Accounting experience preferred (2-3 years), property management industry a plus
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are required
- Ability to multitask and meet constant deadlines
- Must be detail-oriented, ability to ensure accuracy of work
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and have the ability to communicate with multiple team members, internal clients, and external clients
- Technological capabilities and experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Gmail, and Google Docs) is required, and property management software experience preferred (Yardi)
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards
- Must be able to talk, listen, and speak clearly on telephone
- The position requires mobility within the office; use of a computer and other office machinery such as a scanner and copy machine.
- Must be able to deal with a fast-paced, continually changing work environment, including handling multiple tasks daily.
- May require the use of a personal vehicle.
- Must be able to fulfill the performance standards of this position and comply with policies, rules, and procedures of the company, including those set out in the Employee Handbook or otherwise communicated (verbally or writing,) to employees.
