Gables Residential has a rare and exciting opportunity to join our Audit team based in our Atlanta, GA corporate headquarters. If you are diligent about compliance and have previous experience in multifamily audit this might be the perfect next chapter of your career journey!
1. Accounting / Operational Audit
Train and direct administrative on-site personnel in documentation, reporting, and adherence to the policy and procedures manuals.
Conduct an internal audit on every community once every twelve to eighteen months.
At the conclusion of the audit, prepare and submit a summary report. Discuss and review with the Community Manager, Regional Manager, Manager-Internal Audit, and Vice President.
2. Bond / Affordable Housing Regulations
Train and direct administrative on-site personnel in documentation, reporting, and adherence to the requirements of bond/affordable housing policy and procedures.
Conduct a file audit a minimum of once every twelve to eighteen months on all bond/affordable financed properties, or as requested by the Regional Manager, Director of Internal Audit or Vice President.
At the conclusion of the audit, prepare and submit a summary report. Discuss and review with the Community Manager, Regional Manager, Director of Internal Audit, and Vice President, as appropriate.
Handle all communications with any respective county/state finance agency regarding bond/affordable policy and procedures.
Review monthly bond/affordable reports and Income Certifications for accuracy and compliance. Submit all reports to the respective finance agency.
3. Takeover / Acquisitions
An integral part of a takeover team. Assist in many aspects of a property takeover assigned by the VP of Internal Audit / Regional Manager.
Assisting in due diligence preparation.
4. Corporate Audit
Conduct various corporate audits as assigned throughout the year. Areas of review may consist of the following: General Accounting and Expense Reviews, Bank Reconciliation Reviews, IT General Computer Controls Reviews, Payroll and Personnel Audits, Construction Project Reviews, and other assignments.
A high school education or equivalent, with a four-year degree (business, accounting, or finance preferred) or equivalent is required.
Strong administrative, organizational and supervisory skills.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Travel required, as communities to be covered are nationwide. (No more than 50% travel is expected.)
A valid driver s license and current automobile insurance is required.
CPA and/or CIA (or candidate) is preferred. (CIA designation can be attained during term of employment.)
This position is exempt from overtime and may entail working hours as needed to perform the position requirements satisfactorily. The position is scheduled for a typical 40 hour workweek.
